Café Raft

This conceptual branding brief was proposed by the design agency Poppins from London, this project was part of my university course.

 

Brief Provided

To create the brand identity for a Restaurant or Cafe of your choice that considers sustainability and has eco-conscious principles. The specifics of the brand, the strategy, the concept and where your restaurant/cafe sits in the market are up to you.

My Concept

There aren’t many places that are easily accessible to boaters on the river to stop & eat. Café Raft will solve this by providing a convenient takeaway service for boaters. It will also provide traditional seating, a dock for small boats & storage for one-person crafts.

The Logo & Colour Theme

A contrast between typefaces has been used; one that represents the calm tides of the river, the other a sans serif that is legible & shows the contemporary view of the café. The cream colour represents our collective memories of toes in the sand. The blue/green colour represents the water of the river & the eco-conscious values of the café. Secondary colours have been created from lower opacity versions of the primary colours. This was done so that some elements can be less impactful than others while still using the same theme.
